Which VPN has the most countries?

Multiple bubbles, each containing the flag of a country

You’re looking for a new VPN. You need one with a very large network. So which VPN has the most countries? Seems like a simple question, yet it’s surprisingly difficult to get an answer. The providers won’t tell you about their competitors, and the review sites largely point you to their favourite VPNs rather than give a fully accurate answer.

VPNResearch does things differently.

We wanted a more complete answer, so we spent a very long time scouring app stores and social media, eventually identifying 220+ VPN providers who list their supported countries and locations.

Then we developed VPNetworks, a custom app which could automatically grab the latest counts, create maps for providers, and produce all kinds of useful stats and reports.

Beware, though: while VPNetworks is smart, its totals are based entirely on provider claims. If a VPN adds or removes locations but doesn’t update its official website, we’re unlikely to pick that up, and our figures will be incorrect. If you’re planning to buy a VPN based on its country or location count, we’ll hopefully point you in the right direction, but be sure to verify the figures with the company before you sign up.

Now that’s out of the way, let’s see the data. (Click a provider name to see its location list.)
