Africans need online privacy just like everyone else, but their continent is largely neglected by western VPNs. When we sampled 220+ VPNs, we found 44.6% of their locations were in Europe, 21.8% in North America, 20.9% in Asia, and only 3.6% in Africa. There’s so little coverage that 43% of our providers didn’t have single African location.
If you’re having trouble finding a particular African country, then, you’re far from alone. In this article we’ll try to help by listing the VPN providers who offer the most African locations, hopefully pointing you in the right direction.
Keep in mind that this list is based entirely on the locations VPNs claim to support; we’ve not verified that they really do have servers there. A VPN’s inclusion in this list isn’t a guarantee of coverage or any kind of endorsement of that provider. Contact your preferred VPN to confirm a country is supported before you sign up.
